4 Things That Prevent Child Domestic Injuries

Welcome to YesChildHealth.blogspot.com

How do you feel when you come across a child with preventable disability?

Many children have suffered preventable injuries, some of which they recover from, but the majority have sustained permanent injuries which they grew up with, many of such injuries are unfortunately disabling.

Today in YesChildHealth.blogspot.com, let us talk about how to prevent domestic injuries.
These 4 Things That Prevent Child Domestic Injuries works all the time for me with my children or with any child around me.

The old saying still old true "prevention is better than cure." No matter what it costs, prevention is cheaper than a cure.
Let us all share ways to prevent children from injuries here at YesChildHealth.blogspot.com, feel free to share your own experience.

Background: We must remember that children are very fast to move, very quick to act, inquisitive, strong and very innocent, so we should protect.

4 Things That Prevent Child Domestic Injuries

1. Take Away all Dangerous Items
The first thing I will like to share among the 4 Things That Prevent Child Domestic Injuries is that one should always assume that a child can get to that dangerous thing before one realizes. A child may be faster than "time", that is faster than the time you assume he may not get there, the child may just be there already. Sometimes he may be sneaky to satisfy his curiosity and so gets there when you were distracted by other "important things"

2. Hold The Child at the Wrist. When one is at a place that can be adjudged to be dangerous "Hold The Child at the Wrist tight". He may shout, cry to be freed, do not let go of him. He may be faster than the time assumed he could not get there, this is applicable also when one is by the road, by a pit, by the ocean, at a beach etc. Do not say am around I will get him before he gets there, Prevent the unwanted.

3. Never Store Dangerous Liquid in Bottles for Drinks. This is particularly true when the child is familiar with the container. Here at YesChildHealth.blogspot.com, we say the child might not know the content is a poison, please do not practice it. What I do is never keep dangerous liquid at home.

4. Never Keep Electrified object "naked" Non Insulated. The last point  among the 4 Things That Prevent Child Domestic Injuries is to keep electrified object insulated. Children like to hold cord a lot of time because their hands can easily go round it, the cords are usually light weighted so he can fling it at will. Access to dangerously exposed electrical cord may be access to dangerous injuries.

Let us share prevention practice around the world. Many children have died unnecessary death.
